Dreams of Druim

Translation, Ian Christopher Goodman

Expansive sand sits—
sara sarari—inside the skin.
Buried by wind.
Colour with the moment.
There, one pink pebble.
Here, one blue pupil.
Crystalline people.
Colours in moments.

After all in all,
fragile, young flames
on the druim—
memories for moments.
Wind sweeps across an old moon.
Wrinkles forever forming on sand dunes.

Druim: (Scottish Gaelic) a person’s back, a ridge
Sara sarari: (Japanese) onomatopoeia for the sound of moving sand.
